The puppies left for their new homes during the cold dark month of December. The Christmas season is always full of contradiction with the sombre weight of winter outside and the warm festive social atmosphere inside. This year we had an exceptionally cold winter and the pups spent far more time inside the house than would normally have been the case.
Many of the families came to visit us several times, driving many hours just to see how the pups were developing. They were excited and had patiently waited for many months. The puppies were ready to leave the nest and I was confident they would be cared for and loved. Bitter sweet? Yes. Rewarding? Absolutely!
